Install and Licenses

In the following section, you will find a step-by-step guide for installing Mobilize.Net's powerful VB to .NET migration product.

System Requirements

Installation Wizard

In this guide you will find step-by-step instructions to install Mobilize.Net's Visual Basic Upgrade Companion on your system:

Note: A license is required to install and use the Visual Basic Upgrade Companion. Please visit www.mobilize.net or contact us via the VBUC support forum for further details.

After extracting the files in the VBUC_setup.zip archive, double-click "VBUC_Setup_X.X.exe" to launch the installation program.

The End-User License Agreement is displayed. Please read carefully and select the I accept checkbox and then click the Next button.

Select the folder where you want to install the Visual Basic Upgrade Companion. You can change the default location by clicking the Change button. You can also check or uncheck the option "Create a shortcut for this program on the desktop". Then, click Next.

You now receive a confirmation screen. Click Install if you are ready to install the software or click Back to review or change any of your installation settings.

The installation process will take a few minutes. The progress bar shows the overall completion. Once the VBUC installation is complete, you will get the following confirmation screen. You can check the option Launch the Mobilize.Net Visual Basic Upgrade Companion to start the VBUC once you click the Finish button.

Get and Activate a License

VBUC requires a license file to work, whether you are using it in evaluation mode or have purchased a license for your application. In this guide, you will find the step-by-step instructions to register a new License file for your VBUC installation.

The VBUC will try to download and activate a trial license automatically when you run it for the first time. If you run the VBUC and see a "Licensed To: (Trial) Your Company" message in the bottom-right corner of the Main Window, you're good to go.

If the automatic license download fails, you will be prompted for a new license file:

Here, you can click on "Download License..." and enter the email address you used when you downloaded the VBUC. This will download and register the license for you (it will not send a license to your email address).

If you have any issues with this process or if you need a license file to use in an offline environment, please contact us.

If you purchased a license for the VBUC or received an extended trial from our team, just use the "Select License..." button and browse your system to locate your file.
